My decision to hire the office of Jamie James was, by far, the best move I made in a rapidly building storm of unfortunate and difficult circumstances. Jamie and her staff, particularly her associate, Nick Halks, are consummate professionals of the highest order. They have provided me with outstand...ing guidance and advice throughout the early stages of a very frightening and intimidating process. They have made themselves available for even the most mundane of questions, even making time on weekends to respond and put my mind at ease. They are always and exceptionally well prepared for court and have never failed to surprise me with their thoughtful, personal support for me as a client, and, more importantly, a person. I hired Jamie and Jay to represent me in my child support case. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. As that ball was being thrown, Jamie James and her office staff were able to help me get my life back together. Having been married for 23 years and then being told by my husband that he no longer loved me, I thought my life and all I had was over. Jamie James ...was not only knowledegable but also compasanate. She kept me informed and fought for me every step off the way. She delivered what she promised. Going through a divorce is Never easy but Jamie James and her staff, sure can ease some of the pain. My husband and his attorney would NOT settle and we were being forced to trial. Jamie tried in every wasy to promote settlement. She recommended we use a conciliator and set up several meetings to try and work out all the contested items at a 4way (my husband-his attorney, Atty James and -I). She was professional and responsive to all my questions and needs at the meetings. In the end, we did settle and did not go to trial. I hired Jamie and her husband Jay for a variety of cases. The most important case was with my son and involved in bullying case that was extremely stressful and another case of DUI. Jamie made herself fully available to me literally 24 hours a day. I called her all the time and at all hours of th...e day and night. My son was accused of somethings he didn't do, but the tides were turned against him, and Jamie was able to work with the parties involved for a favorable outcome to all. She and Jay also offered tremendous emotional support. Being a good lawyer often goes beyond just doing the legal work because the cases are so charged. Jamie and Jay did that. Another family used a different lawyer and they did not have the same outcome as us. In other cases in the state, the results have turned out differently - very bad for the juveniles accused. We also relocated which was a complex case of preparing and selling a house, renting, and building another house. Jay was involved every step of the way with us and gave us other advice to work with builders and inspectors so the process would go smoothly. Every document was a long mess of legal speak that I could not fathom reading. But I took comfort in knowing I could give it to Jay and he would give me advice on how to proceed. He is very knowledgeable in this area. Jay and Jamie have also handled our wills for almost 20 years. They spent time with us reviewing all the options, recommended various angles to us, and charged us what I thought was not very much to complete our wills. We did this eighteen years ago and then recently reworked our wills (yup - they have been working in the field a long time - experience is a plus). A good lawyer is a busy lawyer. Jamie and Jay are busy lawyers. Yes sometimes she was unable to talk with me but always called me back when she could. And the sooner we could get to the point during our conversations, the less she would have charge me for her services, which was fine by me. When I first started working with Jamie I was waiting in a conference room to talk with her and there was a women whose divorce was finalized in the lobby. She was crying and say "I didn't know it would this hard" and Jamie spoke compassionately with her and reminded her of the things she had to be thankful for. When I heard this I knew that I would want to work with Jamie. I would strongly recommend this team for any legal needs.
