• trademark and copyright acquisition and protection for marketing, merchandising, litigation and corporate matters.
• employment issues, especially with respect to the use of contractors and subcontractors.
• compliance with federal laws dealing with the Internet, including the Communication Decency Act, the Children’s Internet Protection Act, and defamation and discrimination regulations.
• working with various artists and authors to control the duplication and sales of original works, hiring illustrators, art dealers and marketing teams, and drafting publishing and distribution contracts.

Diane honed her legal skills in arguably one of the most challenging and complex intellectual property environments imaginable, modern day Hollywood, as Counsel for Twentieth Century Fox. She brings this broad range of experience to provide counsel in numerous fields including: trademark selection, clearance, acquisition and protection; copyright registration; domain name protection; protection of marketing materials, trade secrets and other confidential information; as well as expert counsel in merchandising, litigation and corporate issues.

Diane has represented apparel brands, painters and sculptors, production companies, charitable foundations, freelance writers, studios, multimedia companies, professional service providers, health and safety product retailers and many other unique businesses in the protection of their intellectual property rights. Licensed in the states of Massachusetts and California, Diane is a frequent speaker on the importance of protecting intellectual property, starting and running a business, marketing, the First Amendment and more.
