Linda M. Young

Linda is the Past President for the Massachusetts Health Information Association (MaHIMA) 2012-2013 and Past Chair of the American Health Information Management Association's Ethics committee 2013-2014.  She is General Counsel  and vice president for Applied Management Systems, Inc. and Owner of The Law Firm of Linda M. Young.  Ms. Young has extensive experience in the areas of recoupment appeals such as Recovery Audit Contractors (RAC) and Medicaid Integrity Contractors (MIC). Prior to graduating from law school, she served as a Registered Health Information Administrator and is highly skilled in HIPAA,  coding and DRG assignment, with 30 years of experience.  Linda has served on the board of directors for the MaHIMA over the years in various roles including Vice President of Legislative Affairs. In a 1996, after transitioning her career toward Management, Ms. Young received recognition from the Massachusetts Health Information Management Association as their Outstanding New Professional of the year. Ms. Young has spoken on various health care issues for organizations in the North East. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, American BAR Association, Massachusetts BAR Association, American Health Information Management Association, and the Massachusetts Health Information Management Association.
