This attorney (recommended by our family attorney) claims to have good experience with estate planning. She prepared a draft revocable trust to my family member (which appeared to be downloaded from a legal document warehouse with little or no customizing or tailoring of the document whatsoever). ... In the end, because the document was so completely unusable (most likely because there was none of this attorney's input into the document), the family member chose not to use the document, Somehow, this attorney still charged them several hundred dollars (i.e. the same amount of what it would cost to get the full document from legalzoom dot com). Additionally, she represented prospective buyers (of my same relative's estate property) from a real estate transaction anonymously. This attorney was asked directly if she represented this group, she'd said that she didn't (and then told a tale about how she wanted to set up a law office on the property) and then proceeded to sell the property to the buyer's LLC which represented approximately one month later. None of these things are illegal apparently, but she certainly misrepresented the truth to people that she'd done previous business with (and took advantage of that personal relationship that was previously in place). Finally, this attorney felt the need to speak unfavorable things ("he chose not to use my services because it was too expensive") about my deceased relative to the Realtor who was selling this property. Again, not illegal, but not the brightest/classiest approach with gossiping about a dead former client to a Realtor representing the family of the deceased. We would not recommend her to anyone at this point based on our experiences.
