Charged consultation knowing she doesn't attend clients in Florida

First got in contact with the office and I was clear I was located in FLORIDA and even though I mentioned to the assitant I was located in Florida, they schedule a meeting with Clarissa to talk about a process I was interest. I payed the $200 fee consultation just for Clarissa to explain the process ...and then tell me that she doesn't work with clients in Florida. They basically took my $200 for nothing. And no, if you already know you do not work in a certain location, so what would be the point to even talk to the client and get $200 from them? . Back them, I also contacted other offices and up front they told me they didn't work in Florida, therefore there was no need to even do a consultation because I would just spend an uncessary money. And that is the difference between a honest office and the ones that are not.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about a consultation. We appreciate your insight and would like to address your concerns in a general manner. Our law firm works only with federal immigration law, operating nationwide. We want to clarify that our expertise lies exclusively in this area, and we do not handle matters outside of federal immigration law. Before scheduling a consultation, it is informed that our office does not provide free legal advice in immigration law. The consultation is a paid service, and we provided guidance within our expertise during that time. Please note that attorneys have the discretion to accept or decline cases, and our decision is not a reflection on the merit of any case. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact our office directly. We take pride in our experience handling complex immigration matters and our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients. Best regards,

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
