Thomas G. Wood

Thomas G. Wood joined Keches Law Group in April of 2022 after working at a premier boutique civil litigation firm in Boston. Before that, Tom was a law clerk to Judge Nina F. Elgo of the Connecticut Appellate Court. In law school, Tom had the privilege of arguing in front of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito as a finalist in the Irving R. Kaufman Memorial Securities Law Moot Court Competition. He specializes in personal injury law and appellate practice.

Tom works with  John Martin and Michaela Weaver in the Torts Department at Keches and represents clients who have been injured due to negligence, medical malpractice, harassment, abuse, and discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual assault in the workplace, at schools and colleges, as well as in residential care facilities.

In 2020, Tom graduated from Suffolk University Law School with Distinction in the Trial & Appellate Advocacy Concentration. During law school, Tom was chosen to be a member of Suffolk Law’s nationally ranked mock trial team, and his opening statement in the National Online Trial Advocacy Competition scored in the top 20% nationwide. Tom also received multiple awards for his participation in other trial and appellate advocacy competitions, including winning both the Walter H. McLaughlin Appellate Advocacy Competition and the Second-Year Mock Trial Competition. He received several academic accolades, including awards for Best Oral Advocate and Distinguished Brief.

Outside of his practice, Tom teaches trial advocacy, evidence, and civil procedure to law students as an Assistant Coach to Suffolk Law’s mock trial team. Before that, he served as a Fellow for the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, where he taught constitutional law and students’ rights to under-served high school students in Boston.
