Divorce is Cheaper without this bum representing you

Unfortunately John E Page was a decent lawyer when he first took on my case. He was on top of it, He worked with me on the money part of it. All and all it was good for the money. Then his personal life took a turn for the worst and his financial problems and his drinking problems became my problems.... He became very nasty towards me and even threatened he would drop my case if I couldn't find a "substantial payment" to give him. He even forced me in to cash payments, which he has denied receiving. If you are anything like me, KEEP YOUR PAYMENT RECORDS, THEY WILL PAY OFF WHEN HE TRIED TO SAY YOU NEVER PAID! When I refused to take a call from him one time, he had his non certified legal assistant call and harass me about money, telling me "there will be problems unless you have a couple thousand dollars by thursday" now how exactly am I supposed to take that? It was a threat to me. He ended up showing up to my court dates, smelling of booze everytime and not even dressed appropriately. He tries to be very intimidating through the use of his assistant and emails, but he has nothing when you are face to face. I give him a 5 for keeping me informed only because he kept m well informed of what would happen if I didnt pay him. Save your money, and get a good lawyer. This man will set you 2 steps and $4000 behind. IF you do chose to use him, ask for detailed bills. One of the main reasons I fired him is because he lied on the bill he sent me and tried charging me for services he didn't do. 2 star is more than he deserves.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
