Bob Casey has handled several matters for me and for people referred by me. He has very good instincts and knowledge about the facts and the law and always researches the matter and prepares well. He gives the client realistic expectations and his fees are fair and reasonable. I am always pleased to ...have him handle business matters for me and to refer him to others.

Attorney Casey represented me in a probate matter, as well as a follow up criminal matter. He said he was experienced with probate, and also had 30 years experience handling criminal matters. I initially hired Attorney Casey to extricate me from a probate matter that was highly contentious, going ...nowhere, and costing me a small fortune. He took a bold stand in his office, but when we went to court, he was timid and reluctant to speak up to the other side, which was represented by an aggressive, attacking lawyer. He trotted back and forth between us, asking me to make concessions. I felt like he was working for them. I finally said I would withdraw, to which he agreed. But when we stood before the judge, he didn’t give any reason. I asked if he would send a follow-up letter to the other side clarifying things, so we could be sure we had finally ended the matter, but he didn’t want to do that. Within two months, the other party conducted a forcible home invasion over the probate matter. The person was arrested on the spot, and gave a statement to the police admitting it. I then re-hired Attorney Casey to speak to the DA, who was prosecuting the now-criminal case, to provide background information. I put this in writing as an attachment to the Fee Agreement. Attorney Casey came to court with me to meet the DA, but again he wouldn't speak up. He later told me off to the side that he thought this was the best strategy. On the day of the trial, Attorney Casey came to court to meet with the prosecuting ADA. The ADA was rushing around and never once spoke to me, although I had been assured she would. Attorney Casey sat passively and never said anything to her. When I expressed my concerns, he kept saying, “What are you worried about? What are you worried about? He’s going to be convicted.” He kept telling me the judge would not admit information about the probate case. To make matters worse, he repeatedly advised me not to volunteer any information, to which I complied against my better judgment. The defendant was acquitted on all counts. No one – not Attorney Casey, nor the ADA, nor myself – had spoken up for me or provided any context or background to the judge. I called Attorney Casey afterwards to tell him what had happened. He said the ADA "...didn’t do her homework." But I had hired HIM to ensure that this didn’t happen. Attorney Casey made excuses at every turn for why he shouldn’t have to say or do anything. If he had actually done something and we lost, I wouldn’t hold it against him. But he didn’t do anything and had no backup plan. He provided completely weak and ineffective representation.

Attorney Casey is not very competent, does a terrible job presenting in court, and is not totally trustworthy. I had to contact the Boston BBO to get him to turn over money in his IOLTA account to my new attorney. I can't think of any legal functions I would trust Attorney Casey with, perhaps handl...ing an extremely straight forward real estate closing. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for legal services.

I could hardly believe it when I read the bad review below. I feel like he must not have been a client. I would bet he was a very unhappy and defeated opponent. Attorney Casey is an extremely competent litigator. He is also extremely smart and his advice is always sound. He has been our family lawyer... for many years and I always marvel at his ability to respond quickly and skillfully to a variety of legal issues. He was always so prepared and confidently and effectively litigated on our behalf. I don't know but it seems like anyone who would write such negative things must be "sour grapes., I can confidently recommend Attorney Casey to anyone needing legal help. It really is a travesty that anyone would try to disparage him.

Bob Casey has been our family attorney for over 15 years. He has handled every legal issue our family has encountered, some of which were quite complex, and difficult legal issues. He has handled every issue with the highest degree of integrity, professionalism, and honesty. He is quite frankly, a re...markable person in many ways. He is a wonderfully warm, approachable, highly intelligent, friendly person, and an incredible Lawyer. A great guy, in every sense of the word, who also happens to be a great Lawyer. A rare combination, that we have been lucky enough to be associated with. The end result of any legal action may not be to the liking of the client, but that is how the Justice System operates, somebody usually do not get the outcome they wanted, due to issues your Attorney can not control or influence. Bob Casey has represented us in the Courtroom, and in numerous other legal situations. His courtroom skills are of the highest level, he is always remarkably well prepared, he is an accomplished public speaker, is impeccably well dressed. If it is possible legally, Robert Casey is the man who can accomplish it . He always does his homework, and leaves nothing to chance. He and his entire staff, all of whom are outstanding, friendly, and smart, are always available to the client. I can truly say that I feel very strongly that Robert Casey is one of the finest Attorneys in the world, and of all the great legal minds in Massachusetts, Bob is without question at the highest level. I will always be grateful we found him and for all the outstanding service he has provided for us. He is a truly good and honest man, and is an incredible lawyer.
