My wife and I went to Michael for advice and assistance with estate planning and the creation of a family trust. Michael could not have been more helpful. He informed us of our options, explaining the relevant laws, customs, and considerations. He nimbly adjusted our plan based on our situation and ...preferences. A few years ago I signed up for an online service to have our wills drawn up and all that I received were these files with pages of documents that I was expected to just fill in the blanks. The legalese was confusing and I just had too many questions. The files just sat on my desktop and I did nothin...g with them. Instead of going that route, we decided to meet with an actual estate planning attorney. Our initial meeting with Attorney DellaMonaca proved to be very informative. He explained that beyond general estate planning there are other issues to consider like probate court and estate taxes. (These could be a large expense for the beneficiaries, but expenses could be eliminated with a Trust fund.) He highly recommended that we have durable powers of attorney in place. This document governs who can manage financial and transactional matters in the event of incapacity. I didn't realize there are different types to consider and if one isn't determined at the time of incapacity, a court appointed one would have to be paid for by the family. When it came time to sign all of our estate planning documents, the signing was witnessed (by two witnesses) and notarized in his office. We have two "hard copies" and one electronic file and of course he has these files in his office. We have the opportunity to make any changes over the next couple of weeks. Attorney DellaMonaca is extremely knowledgeable, forthright and down-to-earth. He made this not-so-pleasant experience easy. I am glad to know that we have taken care of wills for our kids and that we have a local attorney that I can call or email with any questions about our estate planning.

Mike was fantastic in explaining and developing a living trust for my mother. My mother was very skeptical of lawyers because she had bad experiences with them in the past. Mike came to the house and without any pressure at all explained trust options to my mother. He was very thorough in explainin...g and answering questions about her trust options. My mother was very happy with Mike's follow-up services in her final days. When my mother died, Mike made the implementation of the trust very smooth. I was the exector of my mother's estate and any questions I had Mike responded quickly and professionally. Also, he followed through on his pay one price policy. Mike answered questions, contacted other lawyers and corresponded with the real estate agent when we were selling my mother's house for no extra expense. Any documents that had to be developed had an extra charge that were very reasonable and expected. My daughter, wife and I have developed are own living trust due to our experience working with Mike on my mother's trust. I would recommend Mike DellaMonaca highly to anyone seeking to develop an estate plan.
