Joe A. Smith III

Atty Smith was hired about a year ago to help resolve a criminal matter. He did not keep in contact with me regarding my case or what was happening. I didn't understand why things were delayed and continued so often because he did not show up at court. He didn't call me to explain but called the cour...t. While my case was being continued again because he could not make it to court on my scheduled date, two of my jobs put me on leave and did not rehire me. Another attorney was kind enough to step in and help me. When I went to Smith's office because he would not answer texts, emails, or phone calls, he threw me out. The new attorney handled the issue within a week of being hired. I think if Smith was still my attorney i would still be waiting for a call back. Definitely do not pay him ahead. Once he is paid in full for your case- which he will insist before taking action, he will do nothing and you will be stuck wondering what to do with no money and no legal advice from your attorney. I feel I was conned and the humiliation of being treated like I had done something wrong when I was compensating for his unprofessional conduct in not returning calls or keeping me informed was unnecessary.

Joe Smith is the kind of lawyer that is more concerned about your case than his fee ... and that is reasonable for the work he puts in. Joe knows the law, especially criminal defense, and he is a fighter. He was able to get my charges dismissed even after I had been arrested. Highly recommended. ...Oh, and whatever you do, DON'T TALK TO THE POLICE .... not a word. My advice, not necessarily his.
