Peovided me with good legal advice

When I won a green card lottery in 2018 and needed to carefully choose how to maintain a legal status in the USA, Dan Berger provided me with the most helpful consultation. I spoke to more than five different immigration attorneys, but most of them had no experience with green card winners and could ...not help me. Mr. Berger was very professional, knowledgeable, attentive to details, and explained to me the entire process step by step. I followed his advise and everything worked exactly as he told me. Six months later I became a happy permanent resident of the USA.

Overcharged

Summary: I hired a lawyer to help with the process, instead I got a web portal where I did everything myself. My company required I go through him as part of their support for my green card application. They charged me over double what I had as quotes from other lawyers, they were incredibly slow... and not forthcoming with information. Anytime I had a problem turns out would have been easily solved if Berger was open with me. I missed out on some great work opportunities that involved travelling, turns out I could have traveled but Berger told me I could not. In general it is hard to tell what he actually did. With other law firms they were helping collect documents, Berger made me collect everything, then upload onto a web-based system that basically did all the work. There are similar services for free or little money that I could have used. Lawyer had to be contacted several time to get any advice on anything. I put in a complaint with my company that they should really scrutinize the law firms they make us go through for immigration help. FYI I choose not to take my lawyer along for the interview for the Green Card, the border agent said that was a mistake, they should be there from the beginning to the end of the process. Berger wanted more money to come along and since I had paid double what other firms quoted me I did not want to give him more money, consulting other law firms they would have sent along a lawyer as part of the fee for their services no extra charge at the end.

Stay away!!

# User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars by Yann Hoyau 12/10/2011 Make yourself a favor: stay away!! They say the wrong advice can hurt. They are right! Wait almost a year for an I- 130 because nobody in the office never move to hartford checking your case. I have never met him in a year, always tal...k to his paralegal who knows nothing about your case. I talked to me on the phone a couple of times. He made my wife and I promises and then deny we had this conversation (ADD?).He is talking to you like he know everithing he is god and you are nothing. You just pay for his BMW and his wife' s diamond. My new attorney went to Hartford and had an approval the same day. Feel free to contact me I ll be happy to help you and testify that this law office can hurt you. Good luck
