Lead in-house counsel to Alaska Corporation with assets approaching $1 billion. Provide legal counsel to Board and management, oversee all litigation, and negotiate on company’s portfolio of operations, which include: energy development, technology services, real estate, property management, oilfield and construction services, government contracting, and private equity investment. As company's Compliance Officer, responsible for implementing the company’s corporate compliance program and Code of Ethics, and those of all subsidiaries. Manage company’s Legal Department and oversee subsidiary legal departments.

I began my legal career as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the U.S. Army, performing all manner of legal assistance and litigation at the base level, and then at the Pentagon representing the nation’s largest public institutional client, the Department of Defense, in cases deemed critical to national security. I also taught at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Belvoir and at the JAG School at the University of Virginia.

I then moved to the private sector, where for several years at two well-respected law firms I represented private clients in a wide variety of litigation and general law matters and specialties. I moved to public service with the State of Alaska Attorney General’s office and the Department of Interior Solicitor’s Office, performing an array of counsel, including appeal work and oral argument at the Alaska Supreme Court, close agency coordination, drafting regulations and statutes, and preparation of testimony for key government officials, including three governors.
