Description: I was approached by an adult client who demonstrated some potential capacity issues, and, who had not been notified of his father's death on a timely basis by his step-siblings. I opened a probate, a probate guardian ad litem was appointed and, the client. who did not read or write, successfully sought the appointment of his mother (decedent's ex-wife) as the personal representative. The client was found to be the sole beneficiary of his father's estate. During the course of the probate I also successfully assisted the client in seeking social security disability.
