Case Conclusion Date: April 1, 2008
Practice Area: Antitrust / Trade Law
Outcome: Won virtually all issues on appeal
Description: Costco sued the Washington State Liquor Control Board, challenging a number of laws governing the distribution and sale of beer and wine. I was retained to represent WBWWA, and to intervene as a defendant to assist the State in defending the laws. I took the lead on most of the antitrust issues involved in the case. At the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals we ultimately prevailed on all of the significant antitrust issues in the case. The decision is reported at 514 F.3d 915 (9th Circuit 2007)
