A restraining order is a very serious issue and must be addressed immediately. If a hearing is set, he must immediately file a written answer/response with the court, judge and serve her with the same. I cannot tell from your question whether this was an "ex parte" restraining order (that is, the order was granted without notice to him) or if he was properly served and a hearing is set.
