He represented me at the first court date for my divorce. I didn't receive any copies of the orders for the items that I needed to have completed within a couple business days of the court date. I repeatedly called, emailed, and left messages at the front desk for him to get back to me with the information. After a few days of not hearing from him, I took it upon myself to go to the court clerks' office and print out the orders myself so I could get underway incomplying with the time-sensitive nature of the court's orders. another week went by without reply. It wasn't until I went into his office to fire him and get my paperwork that he took the ~10 seconds necessary to look through his mail and forward me the orders that I had been begging him for. He gave me some lame excuse about being busy(10-12 hour days) and that I wasn't his only client who is waiting on him. Since then I've met a couple of other people who have had similar, if not far worse, experiences with him and other lawyers at Goldberg Jones. thanksfully, my new lawyer is very competant and has been aware of Mr. Eubank's reputation for a while.
My experience of Mr. Eubanks is not how he is described on the Goldberg Jones Web site. He was not tenacious on my behalf and let my ex wife's attorney drive the divorce settlement, choose the mediator, and dictate the terms. As a result, I lost my home, equitable access to my children, my retirement, my savings, my ability to support myself without amassing huge debt for the first time in my life and my dignity. Even when I presented Mr. Eubanks with volumes of e-mails, texts and voice mails from my estranged spouse that were abusive, foul-mouthed and clearly showing motive to alienate me from my children, he did nothing. He was very prompt about billing me, that's the only tenacity I witnessed. I was very vulnerable during my divorce and I recall Mr. Eubanks joking jovially with the mediator about how I would be living in a cardboard box for several years because I was left with virtually nothing and no capacity to pay for a place to live, bills, spousal and child support based on my salary. This was all hilarious apparently. It is so vital that a person is well represented while getting divorced because the impact on the rest of your life is huge. Be very careful who you hire to be your attorney and for your sake, I hope it isn't Mr. Eubanks.
I hired Mr. Eubanks as my Attorney for a divorce case, which never went to trial. He was very unresponsive to basic, important questions I asked him about. He referred to the opposing counsel by his first name (as if they were friends), and as far as I was informed, he never filed anything but a notice of appearance with the court on my behalf. I ultimately had to ask him to withdraw as my Attorney for not getting back to me and for not advising me of the pertinent laws in my case. Mr. Eubanks then sent me an itemized bill for $7,000.00 for having conducted a few telephone conversations and reading several emails; he never made a single courtroom appearance on my behalf. His conduct was extremely unprofessional, if not unethical.
I hired Chad to represent me in a Modification of Child Support Action. He was professional, thoughtful, informed, had a firm grip on the law, and best of all, he cares about my case. I appreciate his help very much. Thank you Chad! Monique
