If you allow them to, they can go to the appointment. And, they do have an ultimate right to get the record for the visit. However, I would not allow them to go to the appointment. Be courteous to the claim manager, however, when saying no. This is a person you do not want to be on the bad side of because they can greatly influence how your claim is handled. If you hire an attorney, you can ask not to be contacted (this is the norm) and your attorney will get all contact from the Department and...

An additional issue is that employers may not discriminate against an employee because of a disability. Depending on whether your current condition could be considered a disability, you might be covered that way, if you are fired. Also, not knowing the circumstances of your injury, if you were injured on the job, your employer cannot discriminate against you for filing a workers' compensation claim. Otherwise, Washington State is an "at will" employment state. Your employer can fire you simply...

Your employer can fire or lay you off for any non-discriminatory practice in the state of Washington. In addition, if you are unable to do your job and there are no reasonable accommodations that can be made, they can lay you off. But, they cannot fire you based on a disability that they can accommodate or in retaliation for filing a workers' compensation claim. However, this will be factually specific in your matter and an attorney will have to see if your supervisor or others in a supervisory...

I just wanted to add to the first answer and post the website link to the Washington Doctor's Credentials search. Do not rely on this website solely when picking out your physician. It is certainly possible that he or she has had malpractice claims against him/her that were settled and did not result in medical disciplinary actions. You can also call the Washington Department of Health Customer Service Center at 360-236-4700 to find out any complaints made against the doctor that may not have...
One thing you should look into immediately is whether or not you have PIP (personal injury protection) coverage on your automobile. This is a way, in the interim, to get your medical bills paid for. In Washington State, unless you specifically signed a waiver, you should have PIP coverage. Ask your insurance company to send you a copy of your policy and declarations page to find out what is covered. You usually need to file for PIP benefits within a year of the accident. You may be able to get...
The first inquiry should be what is the proper monthly wage? And, has a wage order been issued? Even though the Department thinks that it has it figured out right now, you must make sure that it includes all of your employer-paid healthcare benefits (if your employer paid for them),overtime and tips as part of your wage. A wage order should have all this information on it, is issued by the Department of Labor & Industries and has appeal rights written in a box under the substantive order. You...
First, your daughter does not need to meet with a medical malpractice attorney, she needs to meet with a competent personal injury attorney. Second, the fast-food chain is giving you a low ball offer because you are not represented. Third, the chain IS responsible for cleaning up after patrons' spills, but one of the key issues is going to be how long the spill was on the ground. If it had just happened, the fast-food restaurant likely would not have known about it and cannot be asked to clean...
