I am filing bankruptcy within a week and i recieved a summons for debt do i need to answer the summons ???

In some states,such as Washington,once a creditor obtains a judgement it can become a lien on your real estate which might not be able to be removed as part of the bankruptcy process. Not to mention the fact that if the creditor obtains a judgement and the bankruptcy filing is delayed the creditor might be able to start garnishing your pay check or bank account.So probably a good idea to ask your lawyer to answer the complaint so the creditor does not get a judgement.
