I hired Jon Springer a few years ago and have referred two friends to him since then. He did a great job for all of us. I had never needed an attorney before I hired him for a family member facing measure 11 charges. It was not easy asking friends who we should contact, most of them had never hired an attorney either. The first attorney I hired worried me so much I looked for a second opinion. Two other attorneys I contacted wanted $20,000 just as a down payment but JS charged us much less than that including a trial fee. He was upfront about the costs and there were no nasty surprises. I felt at ease about the case the first time we met him and I knew he had the experience and determination that we needed. It was a really tough time, the case took a long time to resolve and we were scared but now we are so glad we took his advice and took the case to trial. My friends decided to take plea deals that JS negotiated because that was the right thing for them in their cases. We all felt that Jon Springer genuinely cared about our cases. He explained everything to us, told us what to expect and told us what we were risking. He did not let us get backed into a bad deal and he was not afraid of fighting for us. He had our backs and ultimately got us the results we were happy with. Don't expect him to call you every week, just when it is necessary to your case. It is bad enough being charged with a crime, having picked a bad attorney in the past I can tell you that when you find a good one your life changes. I highly recommend Jon Springer.

I read the other reviews of Mr.Springer and the one about caring only for the retainer is spot on, the other one...LOL. Not only is Mr.Springer a poor lawyer, but his bad reputation in the community is enough to make you walk away from this big mess. I fired him and found out from other attorneys that he is more than a hot head and pleads people out more than anything. He screamed at me in his office, saying I owed him money and when his creepy secretary showed him I had paid he didn't even apologize. I think he is a huge waste

Mr. Springer was attentive and concerned for me and my case during the initial consultation. However, as soon as I paid his retainer, it was a different story. Mr. Springer would never return phone calls nor respond to voicemails. If I wanted to know anything about my case I would have to check OJIN myself. Would not recommend.

When I researched to find a top criminal defense attorney in the Bend, Oregon area, Mr. Springers name came up most often as being both a capable and fearless attorney. I needed the best attorney I could find, because good cross examination skills would be needed to impeach some false testimony. Additionally, whoever accepted my case would be the target of the wrath of a primary prosecution witness and alleged victim who has a history of making gang threats and a history of violence/agression and of retalliation. I explained to Mr. Springer the risk to him as I knew it, and he did not appear the least bit imtimidated and did accept my case. His confidence in my "case" helped reduce my worries while awaiting trial, which helped a great deal. It all ended with the prosecution dropping the charges. I give Mr. Springer the highest recommendation, and not just because of the happy ending, but because is just flat out a good defense attorney. And I might mention that a convenience store clerk that I happened to talk to mentioned that Mr. Springer is her neighbor, and that she is aware that he sort of looks after an elderly woman who lives nearby and does helpful things for her about the house. I learned this before I retained him, and of course it added to my confidence that he is a good and decent man. If you are a good citizen with a clean record and you find yourself falsely accused, as was I, then you may well agree with me that a good criminal defense attorney is probably the most valuable profession of all. I do not have confidence in the justice system, but I do have confidence in Mr. Springer, and this helps balance it all. He is popular, so he is very busy, so be sure to call for an appointment well in advance.
