Houston v. Seward & Kissel, LLP

Description: We brought a case in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York in New York City on behalf of an Oregon investor who was the victim of a fraudulent hedge fund. The case was brought against a prominent New York law firm that assisted the hedge fund by preparing the prospectus. The law firm sought to have the case dismissed on a number of grounds, including that the Oregon securities law should not apply to the New York firm. We prevailed on the case and it is a reported decision.
