Client Review:
My dealings with Piotr were horrible! My case was dismissed due to lack of responsiveness on his part. He failed to file required papers in a timely manner, as a result my case was dismissed. Once a new case was filed he still did not act in a timely manner and as a result a trustee from the Department of Justice contacted me. The DOJ trustee suggested I hire a lawyer to sue Mr. Reysner. In the meantime the court ordered he return all fees paid by me, he has not returned the fees. As my case went on the trustee's office began contacting directly. The trustee's office requested paperwork that Piotr already had, but had not filed. I began to deal directly with the trustee's office and they contacted me when they needed something. My case is finally discharged but true to form nobody from Piotr's office has contacted me. This whole process took over a year to complete! I would not recommend him or anyone from his office for any professional matter.

Client Review:
People read the reviews, he not only got a ch. 13 dismissed with the lack contactioning us when additional information was requested by the courts. Almost lost our home, thank God the sale date to our home got post poned. I'm in the finance world and dismissed 13 looks really bad. After calling 20+ times, we sat down and promised he would resolve the issue. Then again after relentless calls, emails, and visits to his office( he's never there), has yet to respond again. Run Run Run!!!!

Client Review:
After charging me $9500 is fees, this lawyer dropped my case and walked away. He missed my last court date, and will not respond to any of my requests for contact. In addition, he previously had missed meetings he would schedule between us, and for which I would take time off from work. He did this to me twice: One meeting a scheduled phone meeting; the other to be a meeting in person. After the second missed meeting he had the audacity to threaten to not continue working unless I paid my monthly $1000. This was on the third of the month. Apparently he is free to abuse his customers, but then cannot tolerate payments not made on the 1st of the month. He absolutely cannot be reached by phone, and seldom replies to email. I wish I had never crossed paths with this individual. After all the money he sucked out of me for "work" he had done (yeah, right), he left my case just up and hanging. Working with Mr. Reysner was more irritating than working with the mortgage company whose illegal practices spawned my case originally. He still has my original paperwork that I am not able to get back so I can continue my suit with a lawyer who actually does what his job requires.

Client Review:
Piotr, I have left numerous voicemails and sent as many if not more emails and have not received a response back. My first court appearance was November 11th and you were not there. My next court appearance is December 17th and I need to speak with you. Otherwise the trustee will dismiss my case. There is missing paperwork that needs to be filed. Please contact me before the 17th so we can resolve this.

Client Review:
As a single mother trying hard to raise a child, Mr. Reysner has been more than helpful and understanding. He's a little hard to get a hold of, but what lawyer isn't? He's been there when need be. Ya, had the ball slip a few times here and there, but nothing too crazy. I understand he's an attorney and not a super hero. He has helped me with a move order, which I thought was impossible. He is currently helping me with anything that opposing side comes up with. I am very thankful that he is understanding of situations and circumstances. With hard times as we are all going through, he has been more then willing to take payments and make payment arrangements with me. I know that this is his means of income and just like I need to survive so does he and his family. Yet, he completely understands and is willing to help in this aspect. I've been a faithful client and have recommended him to several friends. Thanks Piotr!
Horrible ExperiencePosted by: a Chapter 13 client, 2010-09-24 over 1 year ago. Flag
Client Review:
We retained Piotr as our Chapter 13 lawyer over three months ago. We can never reach him and he refuses to respond to any of our messages or emails. We tried several times to drop by his office hoping to catch him at some point. After three attempts and no response to any of our questions or concerns, he finally sent us an email stating that if we "dropped by his office" again he would charge us $300 every visit. He still never answered any of our questions or concerns.
To make matters worse, he didn't show up to our court hearing and now we have to miss work/schooling AGAIN for another hearing. This has been a horrible experience! UNRESPONSIVEPosted by: a Chapter 13 client, 2010-09-10 over 1 year ago. Flag
Client Review:
The biggest problem I have with Mr. Reysner is his woefully inadequate level of communication.
After retaining his services, and receiving average communication, it has been impossible to receive an update on my active Chapter 13 case. I began attempting to contact him on August 17, 2010 and after numerouse attempts, I have still not received any information concerning my case as of 9/10/10. Furthermore, my wife has received communication from Reysner's office that the Courts are attempting to close her case because they have not received information that she provided to Reysner 30 days prior. My wife and I have made numerous attempts to contact Mr. Reysner and have only received superficial responses from his "office personnel," none of which offered substantive information. I have read reviews from other clients of Mr. Reysner and also his responses. While he claims slander, facts are facts. I have retained all email correspondence and all voicemail correspondence and can back up my concerns upon request. Dealing with Mr. Reysner has been more difficult than dealing with the creditors that caused us to contact him in the first place. The bankruptcy process is difficult at best. One should not have to battle poor attorney relations in the process.

Lawyer's Comment: I must say that I apologize to these individuals who feel they have received poor communication from my office. A good business accepts criticism as well as it accepts praise. I hear what the two previous reviewers have said and I will continue to make every effort to ensure that every client receives the highest levvel of quality service that people have come to expect from the Reysner Law Office.

Client Review:
While the BK was completed, there were a few issues that concerned me. Lack of communication was one. After our first couple of meetings I never heard from him again until I saw him at the hearing. At least he showed up! Though, during the hearing, there was missing information and incorrect calculations. Thankfully, the judge was lenient and allowed for the miscalculations and just told Piotr he had done things wrong.

I used Piotr when one of my tenants in West Sacramento didn't pay rent and he helped me evict them. He showed up personally infront of the property to serve notice to them. He also helped me arrange a settlement between us and charged an affordable rate.
With the housing market, my house is upside down. I called to see if he can help....he didn't want to waste any of my money by hiring him, and offered me advice..on what to do..I trust this guy..only thing is ..a little harder to get a hold of.... Unprofessional, Liar with no communication skillsPosted by: BH, a Chapter 13 client, 2010-03-10 almost 2 years ago. Flag
Client Review:
Beware! This so called attorney has zero professionalism. We understand budget so his generic answering service and his rented room in a real estate office wasn't really a concern to us, but the lack of communication was. It was virtually impossible to contact him. The only prompt call back from Reysner was upon our first inquiry of his services, if you can call 24hrs prompt. After that we couldn't even get a hold of him to confirm our first appointment, which he ultimately forgot about!
Being totally stupid we were still actually going to retain his service. We filled out the paper work he requested (which looked like a 7th grader put it together) and sent a retainer check. This was sent next day priority mail with confirmation of receipt. The next day we called and left 3 messages to see if he received our information. No call back. This was on a Friday. The weekend comes and goes. We call on Monday leave multiple messages with the answering service. No call back. Call on Tuesday leave multiple messages with the final one that we are not going to be interested in retaining him. We finally get a call from his so called secretary. We tell her we no longer want to retain Reysner and to send our information and retainer check back to us. With that Reysner finally calls us back for the first time since our original meeting and acts like nothing is going on. We ask him if he received our information and retainer check. He says no. We tell him he better find it and return it us immediately. He says he'll try? A short time later he calls back asking us to give him a second chance at representing us. We say no. Communication is the key in any professional relationship especially something as personal and difficult as bankruptcy. He finally admits that he did get our information and has already deposited the retainer check. So now on top of lack of communication we have a LIAR! We tell him to send us our information back with a reimbursement check. He says he has to check with his office manager. Boy, where is all this staff hiding? They sure weren't in that rented room in the real estate office. To this date which has been 3 weeks. We still have not seen our information nor reimbursement check returned. Thank goodness we put a stop payment on the check! We also find out later from the attorney we are retaining, all the information that Reysner failed to let us know about or maybe he just doesn't know, due to his lack of experience. We'd like to see how he talks himself out of this. It's this kind of lack of professionalism and accountability such as Reysner's that gives lawyers the bad rap that they have.

Lawyer's Comment: I am not even going to justify this with a substantive response as it contains a great many lies. There are things here which are flat out fabrications.
Needless to say, I can always handle criticism and disagreements and make every effort to take them constructively. Businesses change for the better when they accept negative feedback as well as positive. However, this is not feedback. This is slander. Plain and simple. I will be filing suit against these people for their slanderous statements. I will post links to the documents for the lawsuit on this page and my website so that all of you can see how this unfolds. My husband and I had a good experience working with Piotr. He was quick to answer our questions. When we need to purchase a vehicle he got all the paper work submitted to the trustee and followed up with them daily to get us the status.

Client Review:
Piotr is helping me with my child custody & support case. I spoke with other lawyers who thought my case was not worth fighting. But Piotr believed in me, gave me options and had a lot of good ideas. In court, he was smart, articulate, quick thinking and fought for me and what I thought was right. I was happy with the outcome and will go back to court with Piotr in December. I am confident in Piotr's abilities and confident that he will persuade the judge to make a good and fair decision.

Piotr has been my Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Attorney for about 9 months. He has not given up to confirm the plan with the Trustee's Office. We had a few revisions and amendments but I feel confident and so does Piotr that the confirmation will go through. He is a very patient and competent attorney. I would highly recommend Piotr.

Client Review:
Over the years I have used a lawyer a few times, most were "phone Book" lawyers. That is someone that will charge the rate per hour of someone with Piotr's knowledge but they fall waaay short of performance. When I have to tell them what to do to handle a problem I don't think they are worth "any" money. When working with Piotr I get the response I am looking for before I ask the question!!
Failure in bankruptcyPosted by: a Chapter 7 client, 2009-08-10 over 2 years ago. Flag
Client Review:
I used Piotr in a Bankruptcy case. He failed to file anything but the skeletal petition before the creditors meeting (one month later). Because he filed on the day of the hearing, it was postponed. He then failed to attend the next two and finally did show up on the 4th. At that time I told him I had been laid off and had a wage issue, he asked if I had calculated the amount of overtime owed. When my ex employer threatened to seek credit for severance pay and FSA payments owed for the rest of the year, I asked him to amend my claim. He did not. In fact he told me it was my fault and that there was nothing he could do without a new filing fee and a additional monies to him for fees as discharge had issued. Remember I asked for the amendment before discharge. Per the bankruptcy court, my case was not over, not until it is closed. I filed the amendment myself.

Lawyer's Comment: Well folks, I suppose that the best way to gauge anyone's performance is to see those who are unhappy as well as those who are happy. I'm sorry that this client was dis-satisfied.

Lawyer's Comment: I would like to take this opportunity to educate people on how bankruptcy works. Bankruptcy is a tremendous process. It frees you of debt and lets you start over. However, in order to take advantage of the wonders that bankruptcy provides, one must be completely honest, not only with the court, but also with ones attorney.
When you file your petition for bankruptcy, you MUST list all of your debt. When you go to court to testify, you MUST be honest and state whether there is any debt you forgot to list, or any changes or modifications you need to make to your bankruptcy. I filed this gentleman's bankruptcy in late April, 2009. At that time, he apparently neglected to mention that his employer had a claim against him for monies loaned to him and never repaid. This debt was not disclosed in his bankruptcy papers. In early July, he testifed in court under penalty of perjury that he had no changes to make to his bankruptcy petition or disclosures. It was after that when he asked me to amend his claims to include the debt from his employer. The court discharged his debt in late July (but obviously not the debt with his employer.) It was after the discharge that he demanded I go in and fix the mess he had created. And he wanted it done for free. Bottom line -- be honest and upfront with your attorney from day one. Don't try to manipulate a system that is already so generous. I got rid of almost $400,000.00 in debt for this gentleman and he is now angry that the $8,000 debt he never disclosed to me or the court will not be discharged. The site tells the story about his court record so I'll talk about the person inside the lawyer... He is number one on my California attorney's list. He's got common sense and the ability to think ahead of the game. He seems to understand law and still understand the human side of a person as well. If I needed a stand up guy to fight till the end this is the guy I'd pick first. Be honest with him and he'll be honest with you.
