Biography
My practice is general civil litigation, with an emphasis on professional liability and responsibility issues. I defend many legal malpractice cases, and consult with lawyers and law firms on issues involving ethics, fees and fee disputes, and conflicts. I serve as an expert witness, mainly on issues realting to lawyer ethics and attorneys' fees. I teach professional responsibility and other courses at Santa Clara University School of Law and Lincoln Law School in San Jose. I am a past president of the State Bar of California and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. I recently chaired the State Bar of California Task Force on Insurance Disclosure.
