also known as Shannon Elms
I am a family law attorney, who handles all manner of family law and custody matters, from the very simple to the unique and complex. I take pride in ensuring that I keep abreast of the legal developments that impact my clients, and ensure that I give them the information they require to make an informed choice. I have also worked with my collague Brenda Russo to bring Collaborative Divorce options to Solano County clients - helping them to keep costs down and maintain their sanity during difficult times.
I joined the Law Offices of Russo & Prince, LLP in January of 2004. I have dedicated my entire practice to the areas of Family Law, mediation, and child custody. I also have extensive experience successfully representing clients in guardianship cases, step-parent adoptions, complex parentage and/or paternity cases, as well as successfully establishing legal parenting rights for non-biological parents and same-sex couples.
I believe that my passion for helping families as an attorney comes from the simple fact that I genuinely like my clients, and take pride in the work that I do. I believe in their cases, and I want them to achieve the best possible results.
In my private life, I love spending time with my two spoiled pets, working on my home, and sailing. Explore our website to learn more about what Russo & Prince can do for you.

Just found this site. Hired Shannon in 2011 to help get custody of infant granddaughter. I live out of state and she was always available to take my calls and answer my question. We were successful in gaining custody of my granddaughter. Today she is a happy healthy 7 yr old. I would not hesitate to ...

I would not recommend! I am currently still a client. I have emailed several times (since October and it is now March tomorrow) and the only response I have ever received is that someone will make sure that she gets back to me. I have been waiting and waiting for a response. No communication since th...

I would not recommend Shannon Elms at all. Her assistant Heidi handeled 95% of my case and is horrible. Every time I called and talked about my case I spent 20-30 min re-explaining everything, and I got charged for that time. After a little while I got tired of dealing with Heidi and called several t...
I am so sorry that you left our office feeling so badly. This is the first poor review I have received in ten years of practice, and I take it extremely seriously. Please know that it is truly a priority for me, and my colleagues, to make time for each of our clients, and to treat them with respect. While I recognize that I can be busy with urgent matters at times, it is not my practice to ever allow a client to feel that they are not important and their concerns are not a priority. I invite you to contact me directly, and I would be happy to take the time to discuss your specific concerns.
"I endorse this lawyer. I worked with her on a guardianship matter last year. She was pleasant to work with and showed compassion to the case and to the client. I highly recommend Shannon."
"I highly endorse attorney Shannon Elms. Ms. Elms has worked for me for many years, and she has proven herself to be a compassionate, dedicated and very skilled attorney. She forms strong and lasting relationships with her clients, and does an excellent job keeping abreast of developments in the law. During her time in my office, she has established an admirable level of expertise assisting families with parentage and paternity disputes. I love working with Ms. Elms because she has a wonderful personality, but I continue to work with her because I know that the clients who come to my office are in good hands when they hire her."
