I have worked with Ms. Steigerwald over the past 7 years, from the early stages of separation through the final divorce, as well as during periods of ongoing financial non-compliance by my ex-husband (one of which required a Court motion and appearance). She has not only been responsive, astute, and conscientious throughout this process, but she has also become a valued confidant in whom I have developed great trust and admiration. Ms. Steigerwald understands and conveys the realities and complexities of the law; however, she is also able to relate to her clients on a personal level with compassion and a sense of humor -- this is an uncommon combination of attributes in an attorney, which has kept me a loyal client for many years. I recommend her services wholeheartedly.
Ms. Steigerwald was absolutely horrendous in our mediation sessions. She allowed conversations to keep going on and on well past the point of reasonable and did not facilitate whatsoever. Was a horrible experience only compounded by her very lengthy emails of notes from the sessions which drove the price up when it did not need to be. What started out as 2 reasonable people wanting to use mediation to go through a divorce has now ended up with 2 people who will be going through the court system to handle it.
While very thorough in capturing all the information in my divorce case, there were numerous times when she created too much conflict, which forced the other side into a stalemate position. A case that should have been settled in a few months stretched into a year. The correspondence was often too lengthy and redundant which increased the fees. On the key issues she was a tough negotiator and provided good feedback.
