If you are indeed a natural born or adopted child, you are entitled to settlement money. If not, you should speak to the attorney and find out what his intentions are. If he is of the opinion that you are not entitled to anything, I suggest you consult with a separate attorney to see if there are any circumstances that would allow you to recover. Good Luck

Most California policies do contain a family exclusion rule. Ask the adjuster to cite you to the precise language of the policy, just to make sure there really is such an exclusion. Additionally, even if the liability coverage is excluded, you should be able to make a claim for property damage under your collision coverage, and medical bills under your medical coverage. Good Luck

The $10,000.00 they referred to is their medical expense coverage, which they pay (for unpaid medical bills) up to a maximum of 10,000. They also have liability coverage, which would pay for your pain and suffering and wage loss, but only if the fall was their fault. If you can establish that you are entitled to compensation. Good Luck,
