Description: My clients' kitchen appliance caught fire spontaneously, destroying most of their kitchen and causing water and smoke damage throughout their house. They were forced to live elsewhere for three months while their home was repaired. On behalf of my clients I sued the product manufacturer. The defendant removed the case to federal court and moved for dismissal of the emotional distress damages. I successfully defeated their motion, and we reached a favorable settlement at the Early Neutral Evaluation.
