    Greg’s Answer

I am not licensed in PA, but in CA, where I am licensed, the answer is no, not yet. Talk to your attorney, as there may be advantages to paying it, but usually, there is not. I wrote a short article on this issue with civil demand letters. Click on the link below to read it. Good luck to you.

  • Can a 14 yr old girl date a 17 yr old boy if the parent of the 14 yr old gives consent and there is nothing sexual going on

This would be in.the state of Minnesota

    Greg’s Answer

If there is nothing sexual going on, the two can certainly spend time with each other. However, it would probably be unwise, as others may see this taking place and assume there is a sexual relationship. Others may call the police and the police may not believe you. The age of consent in Minnesota is 16. The smart thing to do is just wait until the girl is 16. Parental consent to the "dating" is irrelevant, just like your consent to sex.

  • Can I get charged for a weapons while intoxicated charge when I was not offered breathalyzer or fst?

was sitting on a river bank with lots of litter including beer cans and bottles, and police officer cited me for open container and weapons while intoxicated, also impounded my utility quad. other quads were around and theirs where not taken to p...

    Greg’s Answer

I am not licensed in Ohio, but in CA, where I am licensed, the answer is yes. No breathalyzer or field sobriety test is necessary if the officer can smell the odor or alcohol on you, you admit to being drunk or your eyes are glassy and your speech is slurred. I would verify this with a licensed, OH criminal defense attorney.

    Greg’s Answer

Call a bail bonds agent and have them discretely inquire. They are financially motivated to find that there is a court date, so they will be thorough. They also are usually very good at checking in on these issues quickly.

    Greg’s Answer

I am not licensed in Florida, so please consult with an experienced, licensed Florida attorney. However, from what you say, I think that if the speeding ticket does not violate your BPO, it still may be a problem. Talk to an experienced FL attorney and good luck.

  • Wouldn't there have to be new charges filed in orderdiscovery or is that discovery on the charges I'm already going to court for

I'm really not sure what new discovery means is that on the charges I'm already charged with or does that mean that I have some new charges pending

    Greg’s Answer

It does not mean there are new charges. It means there is some type of new evidence to provide, i.e. a video, pictures, a witness statement, a supplemental police report, laboratory report, etc.

  • I got a warrant for my arrest letter and it says my bail is $693 i dont want to go to jail.

How do.i avoid jail what do i do should i handle this myself ? Do i need to hire a lawyer it was only a trolley ticket it wasnt something serious. I need to know what to do

    Greg’s Answer

Go to court and have the warrant recalled, first and foremost. If you are innocent of the charge, ask for a public defender to be appointed for you. It may cost a bit, but not much (maybe $200 max). If you are guilty, you may want to just plead no contest and ask to pay the fine via community service.

Go to court and have the warrant recalled. Ask for community service to pay the ticket or else fight it, but to do so, you may need the public defender to represent you.
