Complex Civil Litigation

Plaintiffs, which included pension funds for nurses, nuns, local philanthropic organizations and a local university, alleged that Wells Fargo placed plaintiffs’ securities worth billions of dollars into highly risky ventures and failed to disclose the deteriorating condition of the investments. Wells Fargo argued that it did not misrepresent its investment strategy and that the losses were attributable to the financial crisis. After a seven-week trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict for Wells Fargo on all claims and awarded zero damages. “Wells Fargo Wins Trial Over Securities-Lending Losses,” Bloomberg News August 8, 2013.
In 2011 and 2012, he was part of the trial team that defended dick clark productions against a lawsuit brought by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association over the rights to the Golden Globe awards show. Following a 10-day bench trial in federal court in Los Angeles, the court ruled in favor of dcp. “Dick Clark Productions Wins Trial Over Golden Globes Broadcast,” Bloomberg News April 30, 2012.
