About Me

Aaron Shechet earned a Bachelor's with Honors in Economics from UC
Santa Barbara before earning his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine
University School of Law with a Certificate from the Geoffrey H. Palmer
Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law, of which he served as an
Executive Board Member and is currently a Fellow.

While at
Santa Barbara, Mr. Shechet started a café which served over 1100 dorm
residents.  He also served as President of his dorm and volunteered for
a Congressional Campaign.

His paper on NAFTA and Maquiladoras was cited in “Politics Canada” in July, 2004.

While
earning his law degree, Mr. Shechet worked for a large publicly traded
company in both the Legal and Human Resources Departments.
While there, he drafted numerous internal forms and established
policies, rules, and processes.  Among other accomplishments, Mr.
Shechet created the company'sEmployee Handbook, Consumer Claims
Process, Revised License Agreements, Assisted in the Creation of their
Records Retention Program, and Restructured their Patent Application
Process -- successfully reducing throughput from four months to thirty
days.

After graduating from Pepperdine, Mr.
Shechet had an Internship with the California Department of
Corporations.  One of his most involved assignments during this time
was an investigation in conjunction with the Chino Police Department,
which led to a Criminal Referral to the California Attorney General in
relation to Securities Fraud.

While
at Pepperdine, Mr. Shechet served as Vice-President and then President
of the Federalist Society and co-founded the Journal of Business,
Entrepreneurship & the Law -- only the fourth scholarly journal in
the history of the Pepperdine School of Law.

Aaron Shechet grew up in Los Angeles.  He is an avid stock trader and rockclimber.

Aaron is smart, capable, and genuinely cares about his clients' well-being. On several occasions I've been impressed by his "outside-the-box" approach to addressing a sensitive issue when a more conventional approach wasn't working. If you're considering hiring counsel for a matter that's within their area of expertise, Aaron and his partner Leigh Chandler should definitely be on your short list.
