Jones Law Firm was very helpful through out my divorce process. All of the staff were very engaged with me during my divorce process. April was knowledgeable and able secure a great outcome in my case.

Ms. Jones was my attorney in 2002. She is sharp, quick and strong and we won my case decisively. Ms. Jones represent me again on another issue in 2010-2011. Based on my observation, Ms. Jones is sharper and stronger and has attained greater knowledge and insight. I have noticed that Ms. Jones desires to win each case with integrity. She cares about her client's welfare at all times. Ms. Jones' best quality as an attorney is her ability to take charge; she is quick witted and responsive. I have recommended Ms. Jones to my friends and co-workers.

From day one with April she always seemed very pressed for time. The contract I signed with her firm says that it is her responsibility to keep me informed of what is going on but that was not the case. Mine was a child custody battle that was a little bit unique. My first hearing at court, I didn't know what to expect and my attorney did not help me fill in any blanks. When I arrived at court it was clear that she had been talking to the opposition and did not inform me of such. No efforts were made on her part to speed up the process. I felt as though she deliberately dragged her feet to extend the process, thus giving her more billable hours. It was to the point that I asked for a meeting to ask her if she had time for this case and she assured me that she did and everything would be fine. Once the meeting was done, it was nearly impossible to get back in contact with April. We had multiple phone conferences where hardly anything was discussed and then two days later her secretary would send me an email requesting something. I was always left wondering why this hadn't been discussed in the phone conference. On multiple occasions I sent information to her secretary that was copied down wrong by her and when I would send back an email asking for revisions, I was charged for her mistakes. My child is my world and I repeatedly expressed my concerns about this process and was not given any concrete information. I would call her office and her secretary would say she didn't know and ask if I wanted to set up a phone conference with April. I would ask April point blank questions through email and she would completely ignore them, leaving me to have to send more emails to get answers. The very first time I actually knew what was going on with my case is when I started looking for new counsel. An attorney I hadn't hired let me know what my attorney was up to. She was extremely impersonal and at times almost seemed obstinate with how she dealt with me. My experience was not a good one and I wouldn't recommend anyone with a case that is close to their heart to use her either. April is a very knowledgeable attorney but she seems to take on way too many cases. In the sum of a 10 minute court hearing, 3 telephone conferences less than 15 minutes apiece, one conference with a judge that lasted less than 15 minutes and a handful of incomplete emails I spent a lot of money. No progress was made on my case during the months that she was my legal counsel and I became increasingly frustrated. I eventually had to find new counsel and she was unwilling to send over my complete file. It was not a very good experience at all

I needed a tough attorney as I had been bullied by my Ex. and his attorney in the past. April was definitely everything I wanted and needed, she went the extra mile for me, I could not have been more pleased. She got me everything I wanted and then some. If you need someone that's going to fight for you for a reasonable price call April!

I retained April Jones for a divorce. She never could remember how many kids I had. She and her paralegal work like this.
"I will work on this today"
5 hours later
I received email that they have questions and please call.
(Only have 20 minutes before they leave for the day)
Call to no answer.
The separation agreement and any document that was sent to me "drafts" I had to edit myself. Every document was a copy of someone else's document.
In the separation agreement "draft" was a copy of another's. I was a female and and everything was in favor of the spouse.
In adequate, but managed to take the entire retainer before I switched counsel.

After wasting 10 months and $14k to another law firm, I decided to reach out to April. That was a decision that changed my life forever. My first appearance at the court (have made several appearance before with my old law firm) with April gave me my first victory (that so much deserved). She stood with me through out the entire divorce process and she was also able to stand up to my ex's attorney. Though I was dragged several other times, April was able to get what is reasonable for me, my ex and my daughter. I have a lot of respect for April and I will recommend her to my friends and family any time.

April Jones sounds great in the beginning, she sounds reasonable priced and will work for you and gives you a retainer and says that your case should not cost this full amount and you should get some money back. Then a few moneys into your case she double the retainer and again says I don't feel it will cost this much and you should get a little of your retainer back it is a easy case both parties agree to the terms to pull onside of the parental rights and the step parent adoption is easy. I even did some of the filing for April company so they did not have to charge me for driving to the court house and filing the case. Then I got the final bill, and what do you think April Jones did, she billed me that day the exact amount of how much was left in my trust to make sure I did not get anything back!!! She calmed it was a lot of reviewing the past case and all the information, She did not have to review anything, both parties agreed and everything was signed off. She just had to walk in court. Then the day of court she requested I was there 30 mins prior to court, just to review and get ready for the hiring. She showed up literally as they were calling my adoption case of my son into the court room. The hiring only lasted 8 mins, however she billed me for 190 mins!!! She is a lawyer that gives lawyer a bad name. She will charge your trust the exact amount you owe so you will not get a cent back and she will make sure of it!!!

April withdrew from my case 2 months prior to the court date. Her reason? A fee-dispute. I was on a payment plan and could only pay a fixed amount each month, yet she decided she wanted a full retainer $3500 and I was not able to pay that so she withdrew. She was always paid and I owed her no money. In fact, over a 9 month period I spent close to $10000 with her. By withdrawing, she left me high and dry only 2 months in advance of my court date.

Ms. Jones is very thorough in her process, which produces results. She took the time to understand my situation, and address the concerns I had about my scenario and court proceedings. She is direct, and professional, yet manages to bring a sense of calm to an otherwise un-nerving situation. She is also registered with the BAR association in two states (California and Colorado), which happened to be perfect for my case/situation.
Anyone who is facing something with civil and family court, I would highly recommend her to you, as she will not beat around the bush like many attorneys do. Instead, she gives direct information, and gives a plan of attack that has achievable and measurable results.
With her help, I was able to get a fair share of time with my daughter, despite the CO state standards of a child custody for children under the age of two. I am now able to be the engaged father that I always wanted to be with my daughter. I owe so much gratitude to April and her associates and staff.
Thank you, April, Kevin, and Hannah!
