Mari M Reed

Ms. Reed’s practice focuses on the establishment and administration of domestic and international trust, investment, and life insurance structures for high net worth individuals. She has significant experience advising clients regarding the tax planning and asset protection aspects of such structures. Ms. Reed utilizes her experience to aid clients with all aspects of their estate planning needs, from drafting and implementing wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and disability documents, to designing, analyzing, and implementing complex asset protection and estate planning strategies. Ms. Reed also assists clients to ensure proper tax reporting and compliance, with particular emphasis on reporting for foreign entities, foreign accounts, and the beneficiaries of such entities and accounts. In addition to her representation of private clients, Ms. Reed also represents hedge fund and other investment managers in connection with the establishment and operation of insurance dedicated funds (IDFs) and managed accounts, including such managers’ business and legal relationships with domestic and international insurance carriers. After receiving her B.A. in Economics from Baylor University, summa cum laude, in 1999, Ms. Reed graduated with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 2002, where she was a member of the Texas Law Review.
