About me

Justin Dinsdale received his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Christian University (TCU) and received his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.  While attending law school Mr. Dinsdale was selected to serve the Board of Advocates under the direction of the renowned courtroom strategist Professor Gerald R. Treece. Mr. Dinsdale honed his advocacy skills in preparation for a career involving the courtroom.

After graduation Mr. Dinsdale relocated to the Rio Grande Valley and continued his advocacy training while employed as a prosecutor with the Cameron County & District Attorney’s Office under then County & District Attorney Yolanda DeLeon and then subsequently under the newly elected Armando Villalobos.  As a prosecutor, Mr. Dinsdale reviewed and filed hundreds of misdemeanor criminal cases which gave him insight into what the State of Texas must prove to secure a conviction against a defendant.  After distinguishing himself in the several County Courts at Law, Mr. Dinsdale was promoted to handle complex felony cases.  While serving as a felony prosecutor in the several Cameron County District courts, Mr. Dinsdale tried multiple felony cases including but not limited to: robbery, burglary, drug possession, sexual assault, and murder.   Additionally, Mr. Dinsdale represented the State of Texas in all associated matters handled by the District Attorney’s Office including: counseling with probation officers, law enforcement officers, witness preparation, legal research, expunctions, plea negotiations, and drafting pre-trial motions.  While handling a full criminal docket Mr. Dinsdale also argued contested Protective Orders and aided the Texas Rangers in cold cases and unsolved murders.

During his time with the County and District Attorney’s Office Mr. Dinsdale gained immense knowledge into all matters associated with the criminal trial process.  In 2005, Mr. Dinsdale was awarded by then County & District Attorney Armando Villalobos for his outstanding performance as a prosecutor.  Texas Monthly magazine named Mr. Dinsdale a “Texas Super Lawyer-Rising Star” in 2008 and again in 2009, adding his name to a list of the top lawyers across the State of Texas.  After years of successfully practicing criminal law for the State of Texas, Mr. Dinsdale decided to put his talents to work for the people in Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties who are accused of crimes and need an effective lawyer to represent their rights in a complex legal system.
