The red light camera tickets are similar to parking tickets. They don't go on your driving record, and they don't increase your insurance rates. However, if you have several unpaid red light tickets, your license may get suspended. In Illinois, the ticket is against the owner of the car, not the person driving at the time.

It appears that you can drive during this time. Do not miss your court date. I strongly suggest that you talk to an attorney. It may seem easier to just plead guilty, but you may be able to get a better outcome by having an attorney with you. Talk to someone who sees these cases every day and who appears often in the court where your case is being heard. If you need help, feel free to call. I can refer you to an experienced Chicago traffic defense attorney. 1-312-346-5320. Good luck.

With your license on the line, there is a good reason to hire a lawyer. They're in the best position to negotiate a good outcome. Look for someone with a lot of defense experience, and someone who is very familiar with local court. If this happened in Cook County, then start your search there. I can give you a referral if you need help. There is more information in the link below. Good luck. Michael Helfand 312-346-5320

You don't have to be read your rights in order to be properly arrested, even though they do it that way on TV all the time. An officer is required to read someone their rights before questioning them while they are in custody. Your son should not try to defend the DUI on his own. An experienced defense attorney can analyze his case, identify any defenses that may be available, and negotiate with the prosecutor on his behalf. If you need a referral, feel free to call. I can give you the name...

Hiring an attorney would be a good idea. Look for someone local, who knows the judges and prosecutors. Negotiation may be possible. At the very least, sitting down with a traffic defense attorney will give you a better idea of what to expect and what your options are. If you need the name of a good traffic defense attorney in DuPage County, I'd be happy to give you a referral. You can reach me at 1-800-517-1614.

Yes, you can fight it, but I wouldn't recommend doing it alone. Consider hiring an experienced traffic defense attorney, or at least set up a consultation to get some advice. An attorney is in a better position to negotiate on your behalf and get the desired outcome -- court supervision, getting the ticket reduced to a less serious violation, or even dismissal. Call me if you need a referral. I know a good defense attorney in your area who should be able to help. 1-800-517-1614. There is...

Your attorney should be familiar with your case by now. If you don't feel that you are being taken seriously or that your attorney is working hard for you, you have the right to find someone new. Consider first talking with your current attorney. Do they have a lot of experience in your type of claim? Do they have experience with third-party lawsuits in work injury cases? Ask a lot of questions. If you aren't confident in their ability to represent you, get a second opinion. If you have further...

Generally, red-light camera violations do not appear on your permanent driving record or affect your car insurance rates. They are similar to parking tickets. Your license may be suspended if you have several unpaid red-light camera violations.

You have taken some good first steps -- asking to fill out an accident form, getting medical treatment, looking for legal guidance. I'd suggest sitting down with an attorney next (and continue to get the treatment you need). Look for an experienced injury attorney - someone who focuses their practice on personal injury cases. Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions, not only about your situation but about their practice. This will help you get an idea of whether they're a good fit for you. If...
