Description: Like many people in this economy, my clients lost their jobs & were facing a foreclosure with two small children at home. The mortgage company claimed, several times, they would help my clients work toward a modification...but that same mortgage company served them foreclosure papers. Realizing they would loose an opportunity to save their residence without the protection of bankruptcy, they discussed their goal of keeping the home with me at a free consultation. We were able to successfully file a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy & they are on now on road to financial recovery without the constant threat of foreclosure. As soon as the case was filed, they stopped hearing from creditors and finally got a good night's sleep. The high credit card interest they were accumulating stopped and the court only required them to pay back 10% of that credit card over a five year plan they could afford. They kept the home, their vehicles, and now have the opportunity to catch up and work on that modification.
