About Me

Brad Pollock is a named partner with Walsh, Knippen, Knight & Pollock. Prior to joining the firm, Brad practiced as a trial lawyer in Chicago, both as an insurance defense attorney and as an attorney representing the rights of injured people. This unique perspective assists Brad in his aggressive representation of his injured clients. Brad concentrates his practice in the area of catastrophic personal injury, including automobile/truck, professional negligence/malpractice and products liability.

"Success in litigation is a product of unyielding advocacy, commitment andtireless preparation, built upon the foundation of strong client relationships."- Brad Pollock

Some of Brad’s recent honors and appointments include: the distinction of being named a “Super Lawyer” (limited to the top five percent of lawyers in the State of Illinois) by Illinois Super Lawyers from 2008 to the present; a Superb rating from AVVO; an appointment from the Illinois Supreme Court to serve on the Committee on Character and Fitness, Second District from 2010 to the present; an appointment to serve as the attorney for the DuPage County Bar Association (Associate General Counsel in 2011 and General Counsel in 2012); President of the American Inns of Court DuPage Chapter (a legal organization of 80 members consisting of accomplished attorneys and Judges, by invitation only) from 2011-2012; appointment to the Illinois Bar Association Tort Committee (focusing on legislation and other issues affecting personal injury law) from 2010 to the present; and appointment in 2011 to oversee the Trial Advocacy program of the DuPage County Bar Association (a program to train practicing lawyers to sharpen their trial skills).

Since joining the firm, Brad has successfully secured numerous settlements and jury verdicts on behalf of his clients in the millions of dollars. One of his accomplishments involved a 2 ½ week medical negligence trial with firm attorney Ed Walsh that resulted in a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff in the amount of $7,287,083.00. The case involved a Defendant physician's failure to properly treat a non-cancerous facial tumor resulting in partial facial paralysis and disfigurement. The unanimous jury verdict far exceeded the Defendant's $500,000.00 settlement offer. Another one of Brad’s accomplishments includes a $5,250,000.00 settlement in a products liability case involving an explosion at an engine testing facility. Brad has secured other million dollar plus verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.

In addition to his busy practice, Brad serves as an invited lecturer/adjunct professor at Midwestern University speaking to students in the medical field on the Plaintiff's perspective on personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. He has also presented seminars to professional organizations, including one for the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA) entitled, "Handling the Catastrophic Injury Case from Interview to Verdict." Brad has also donated his time each year since 2000 to act as an invited Judge for the annual John Marshall Law School International Moot Court Competition in Information Technology and Privacy Law, involving law schools from all over the world.

Brad has also served the legal community by serving as the Chairman of the DCBA Civil Practice Committee in 2007-2008. In that role, Brad conducted a 4 week trial advocacy program, which trained attorneys on the techniques of being an effective trial attorney. The course was held at the DuPage County Court House and involved mock trials presided over by well-respected DuPage Judges. The graduation ceremony for the course was held at office of WKKP and included congratulatory remarks by Illinois Supreme Court Justice, Robert Thomas. Other past accomplishments include: From 2009-2010 Brad served as Chairman of the DCBA Committee responsible for Continuing Legal Education; From 2007-2010 he served on the DCBA Judicial Committee, a panel that evaluates Judicial candidates seeking appointment or election to become a Judge.

Brad’s other interests include spending time with his family and physical fitness. Brad competes in and has run numerous road races, including three marathons.
