The first seventeen years of my career were spent in healthcare, my most recent position was with Midwest Orthopaedic Network where I was the Executive Director. My undergraduate education prepared for me a career in Nursing Home Administrator and I worked at Nursing Homes for several years. I managed doctors offices, worked for Hospitals, Aetna and Healthstar insurance plans and then I became an Attorney.
What Makes Me a Different Kind Of Lawyer
Having a whole other career prior to becoming an Attorney has shaped how I approach my client's cases. I am pragmatic and I lead my client's to success in their cases, whether Divorce or Personal Injury, Trial or Settlement. I have a strong business and finance background-- an asset to my clients, especially in divorce where we are dividing the assets and debts of the parties and even more important in complicated and high asset divorces.
I will help you feel at ease so that you can feel comfortable and that your case is progressing during. I will help you make the decision of when to proceed and help you understand what is at stake. We will work together to decide whether to fight for something in your case based on the benefit derived compared to the legal costs. This makes me a better and more effective attorney. However, I am not afraid to fight for my clients when it is all on the line and when only a Trial will settle the issues between the parties.
Divorce it Trauma Even When It Is Non-Contested
Even at the most amicable level, divorce takes an emotional toll on all parties. There are many concerns to address, including all relevant issues such as property division, maintenance (formerly known as alimony), visitation, custody and support. When strong emotions threaten common sense, when children are at risk, when what was once a source of security begins to weaken and crumble, you need legal support.
However, the support you need must go beyond the impersonal approach that is often associated with large firms. By engaging the services of a lawyer who will work closely with you and who cares about your emotional well-being as well as your financial stability, you can ensure that you hold onto your house or garner general spousal support. Susan A. Marks can help you emerge from your ordeal confident to move forward.
