About Me

As a family law attorney and mediator, I am usually working with people who are going through a very emotional and stressful time in their lives.

As an attorney, I believe in trying to make the process easier for my clients by explaining their legal rights and options, and providing them with an accurate portrayal of what might occur in their case if we proceed through the court system (litigation) or proceed through various settlement processes (mediation, early neutral evaluation, etc.). I would describe my "practice style" as trying to resolve cases amicably while being a strong advocate for my client and providing my client with knowledgeable advice about the legal process. My job as your attorney is to give you information, spell out your options, and allow you to make the final decision about how to proceed. I represent clients in all stages of the negotiation and litigation process.

As a family law mediator, I bring my years of experience as a family law attorney and my experience working with many very talented mediators and family law professionals, and use what I have learned through the years as a family law litigator to assist couples and families with resolving their disputes through the mediation process.

My practice areas include: complex and simple divorce cases, establishment and modification of child custody, establishment and modification of child support, paternity, post-decree modifications of spousal maintenance, immigration issues involved in the divorce process (I-864 Affidavits of Support), preparation of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDRO's), orders for protection (domestic abuse), harassment restraining orders, step-parent adoption, third-party custody actions, grandparent visitation, preparation and review of prenuptial (antenuptial) agreements, preparation of basic Wills/Trusts, drafting Powers of Attorney, drafting Health Care Directives.
