Fields et. al. v. Smith et. al., 653 F.3d 550 (7th Cir. 2011), cert. denied, No. 11-561 (U.S. Mar. 26, 2012)

Outcome: The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the decision of the United States District Court that found Wisconsin Statute 302.386(5m) to be unconstitutional "as applied" and facially unconstitutional.

Siefert v. Alexander, 619 F.3d 776 (7th Cir. 2010), cert. denied, 131 S.Ct. 2872, ___ U.S. ___ (2011)

Outcome: A three-judge panel agreed with the Honorable John Siefert, and amicus curiae, that Wisconsin’s prohibition on judges belonging to political parties, SCR 60.06(2)(b)1, was unconstitutional.

Fields et. al. v. Smith et. al., 712 F.Supp.2d 830 (E.D.Wis. 2010)

Outcome: The United States District Court found Wisconsin Statute 302.386(5m) to be unconstitutional "as applied" and facially unconstitutional.
