About Me

I have over sixteen years of experience in the practice of law, concentrating in the following areas:

Family Law / Domestic Relations - all areas of family law and domestic relations, including negotiation, mediation, litigation and appellate level representation. Services include divorce, annulments, judgments of separate maintenance, child custody, parenting time, child support, paternity, spousal support / alimony, property settlements, pre and post-nuptial agreements, and personal protection orders.

I represented the prevailing party in a published Michigan Court of Appeals case, Dumm vs. Brodbeck, 276 Mich App 460 (2007), which involved the issue of "proper cause or change in circumstance", which is the legal threshold that a party must be able to demonstrate has been met before the trial court can entertain a party's' motion to modify child custody.

Adoptions - representation of adoptive parents in direct-placement, relative, and stepparent adoptions. Regularly appointed by Wayne and Oakland County Circuit Courts, Family Division judges to represent natural parents and children in adoption proceedings.

Juvenile Neglect and Delinquency Proceedings - representation of children and respondent parents at the trial level. Appellate level representation in matters involving orders terminating parental rights.

Guardianships and Conservatorships - representation of petitioners and respondents at the initial petition stage as well as in contested proceedings. Regularly appointed by Oakland, Macomb and Wayne County Probate Court judges to serve in the role of attorney representing respondents in contested proceedings, to serve in the role of Gurardian ad Litem for respondents in contested proceedings, and to serve in the role of Guardian ad Litem to review guardianship and conservatorship matters.

Mental Health Proceedings - regularly appointed by Oakland and Macomb County Probate Court judges to represent respondents in mental health commitment hearings.
