Not guilty, seek advice of a good criminal lawyer in private. They will need to review all facts to determine any defenses and best path forward. Most criminal lawyers offer free initial consultations. Avvo is a great place to start your search for an attorney. Contact a few criminal lawyers and hire the one you like best.

  • When I'm being arraigned, I think I should take the 7411 deal if they give it to me but if not should I plead not guilty?

I'm currently waiting for arraignment for a marijuana possession charge. I only have an owi previously recorded on my record. I finished probation and all that came with it without any problems.

    Mani’s Answer

Stand mute or plea not guilty at arraignment. Meet with a criminal lawyer to determine if police did not follow proper procedure, which may lead to the suppression of evidence. Do not plea any sort of offer before allowing a criminal defense attorney review the facts of your specific situation. Most criminal lawyers offer free consultations, take advantage of this, and seek a private consultation to determine the best path forward. Avvo is a great place to start your search for an attorney, I wish you the best.

  • How do I decline a plea bargain

I've recently gotten in trouble for domestic violence but I'm choosing to represent myself. I was offered a plea bargain, but I don't want to accept it. How do I go about declining it and choosing a nonjury trial?

    Mani’s Answer

Do not represent yourself, that is a huge mistake. A non jury trial in most circumstances is also a huge mistake. Go talk to a criminal attorney in private, most offer a free initial consultation.
