About Me

David Blanchard is a respected trial lawyer with a reputation for fighting injustices regularly heaped upon honest hard-working individuals and small business owners. He is recognized for his aggressive, goal-oriented advocacy and advice by clients, attorneys and judges.

David Blanchard joined the Ann Arbor law firm of Nacht & Associates in 2004. He is an Ann Arbor native and two-time University of Michigan graduate. He received his B.A. in political science in 1996 and a J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2003.

David Blanchard came to law school from a successful career as a broadcast journalist, covering local politics and environmental issues in Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County. During Law School, Blanchard focused his studies on international law, constitutional law, and criminal theory. He served as an Executive Articles Editor at the Michigan Journal of International Law. He has interned at the United Nations and worked as a summer associate for a major east coast law firm. He has editorial credits on substantial projects in criminal theory and international law. Blanchard came to the Firm from a federal judicial clerkship with the Honorable Stanley S. Brotman in the District of New Jersey. He joined Nacht & Associates in September of 2004.

David Blanchard primarily practices in the areas of civil rights, commercial and employment litigation, and felony criminal defense. Blanchard handles all employment related matters, from harassment, discrimination or retaliation lawsuits to medical leave, benefits issues or severance negotiations. He appears in both state and federal court, including the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Federal Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

David Blanchard is currently chair of the National Employment Lawyers Association New Lawyers Committee. Blanchard is also active in the Washtenaw County Bar Association, where he serves as Chair of the Labor and Employment Section. He is also President Elect of the Washtenaw Association for Justice.
