You need to know what was the purpose of the trust. It appears from your question that the Grantor (person who created the trust) didn't want the Trustee to make any distributions until the youngest grandchild reaches the age 21. The Trustee was charged with maintaining the real estate until it was ready to be sold. When the youngest grandchild reaches 21, the Trustee sells the real estate and distributes the proceeds to the beneficiaries of the trust (you are assuming they ar the grandchildren...
