Poor Advocate

Hired to take on a franchisor, Roland came to depositions unprepared, caved in to adversary over and over again. Charged $270.00 an hour (trial attorney rate) yet we seldom saw the inside of a courtroom. I spent over 100K and 4 years and LOST on a case that was supposed to cost 40K and take 1 year. I...f Roland is your lawyer I feel sorry for you.

This review does not describe any case in which my firm and I have been involved. The only case in which we were involved for four years was a non-franchise case where the representation was on a contingency basis, not hourly. That was during 2007-2012. It settled. The only other long-running case was one that was waiting for a ruling from the judge (and had been for 18 months) when the sole owner of the company, who also was a guarantor, filed for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy caused the case to be stayed but remains pending subject to resolution of issues in that bankruptcy. We "over-prepare" for depositions, which really is the appropriate amount of preparation. We suspect that this review is from a competitor or an individual who is a defendant in one of the cases where we are seeking an injunction. Pathetic.

Great Attorney

I used Roland for a business litigation case and found him to be very knowledgeable and thorough. He kept meticulous records for my file and was able to demonstrate to the Judge all of his efforts of getting the case moving and keeping it going. I now send him to my family and would use him again i...f needed.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
