I encourage clients going through a divorce to do so with dignity and in a manner which is as sensitive as possible to the continuing need to co-parent the rest of their lives if children are involved.I also encourage the use of collaborative law procedures to settle cases rather than traditional litigatiion which is far more expensive and adversarial. The parties agree to settle rather than go to court, and their lawyers are obligated to partner that process for the benefit of their clients.
He has been trained as a family law mediator and is currently also handling collaborative divorces which involve an agreement between both lawyers and the clients to settle their case themselves rather that depending on the court system.
He strongly encourages dignity and privacy in his cases and discourages conduct injurious to children often caught up in their parents' problems.
His experience includes frequent court experience as a prosecutor and as a partner in a large firm for almost 15 years as head of its Family Law Department.
He has been recognized as a "Community Hero" by Easter Seals and sits on the Board. He is past president of the Vanderbilt Alumni of Tampa Bay and many other civic organizations. He, his father, and grandfather have all practiced law in Tampa, and all had the distinction of being elected president of the local Bar association.
