She was also in-house counsel to AmeriFirst Federal Savings and Loan in Miami.
Ms. Newman is the President of the Craig S. Barnard American Inn of Court, the past Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, a former executive board member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Palm Beach County Chapter. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Palm Beach County Bar Association, North County Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the Professionalism, and the Unified Family Practice committees of the Palm Beach County Bar Association.

During law school Ms. Newman served as Executive Editor of Law Review, she received the Foundation Press Award for Jurisprudence and Honors in both Appellate Advocacy and in Legal Writing. Ms. Newman attended college at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Newman has lectured and written articles on various family law issues. Ms. Newman has been appointed as attorney ad litem for children in high conflict divorces and is a trained guardian ad litem.
