About Me

Omar Malone joined FREIDIN . DOBRINSKY in 2004 and his practice is primarily devoted to personal injury, auto accidents, consumer fraud, premises liability and wrongful death litigation. He is dedicated to helping individuals and their families who have been wrongfully injured due to the negligence of others. In 2007, Lawdragon recognized him as one of the leading plaintiff's attorney in America. In addition to the practice of law, Omar is extremely active in the community.


Omar received his law degree from Texas Southern University in 1990, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and Salutatorian of his law school class.

After graduating from law school, Omar clerked for the Honorable Kenneth M. Hoyt, a United States District judge in the Southern District of Texas. In 1991, he moved to New York City where he worked in the Wall Street law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. There, Omar specialized in commercial litigation and products liability defense.

In 1995, Omar became an Assistant Federal Public Defender in Miami, and shortly thereafter, was promoted to Supervisory Federal Public Defender. He represented individual and corporate defendants in all phases of federal criminal litigation and tried over forty-five (45) federal cases to verdict. Omar is believed to have had the highest acquittal rate in the entire office.

He is a partner with the law firm of Freidin & Dobrinsky and specializes in personal injury and class action litigation. He is a member of the Florida Justice Association, the Board of Directors of the Dade County Bar Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Miami Dade Justice Association (formerly known as the Dade County Trial Lawyers Association). Omar is a member of the United States District Court’s Ad Hoc Committee on Rules and Procedures for the Southern District of Florida. Omar is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization that recognizes trial lawyers from across the country that have successfully won judgements of at least one million dollars. Omar has been a sought after instructor at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy since 1997 teaching trial skills to lawyers from around the country. In 2007, Omar was chosen as one of the Leading Plaintiff Lawyers in America and selected for inclusion in the Cambridge Who’s Who of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs for 2008-2009.


In addition to the practice of law, Omar is also extremely active in community activities. The following are some of the organizations he is involved with:


University of Miami Minority Mentoring program for law   students;


100 Black Men of South Florida - an organization dedicated to mentoring young men and providing college scholarship assistance;


Member of the Board of Directors of several non-profit organizations dedicated to assisting families and children, including, the Children’s Home Society and the Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services.
