IRS v. Client

Brian Daniel Geno

Case Conclusion Date: November 5, 2009

Practice Area: Tax Fraud / Tax Evasion

Outcome: Jury Verdict for Defense

Description: Client was an established surgeon who failed to file and pay his income taxes over a 14 year period. Initially it was due to illness but after a time became a growing fear of what would happen if he came clean with the IRS. One day he got a letter saying the IRS wanted his address, so he knew they were about to catch up with him. Justifiably, he was worried about criminal and civil liabilities. I got him compliant and secured his wife from potential liability. Eventually, after working with him and the IRS, he avoided a bill of approximately $450,000.
