About me

Mr. King is a cum laude graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. Admitted to practice law in D.C. and Maryland state and federal courts (including the United States Supreme Court) and before the United States Tax Court, Mr. King focuses his practice on estate planning and administration, estate and tax litigation, and business law. Mr. King received his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Salisbury University (where he is an inductee in the Alumni Hall of Fame) and continues to teach Philosophy as an adjunct professor for the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville, where he is also a coach of the Ethics Bowl team.

Mr. King brings a unique perspective to estate planning, advising clients on protecting their businesses, premarital agreements, as well as intellectual property and digital assets (including online account information and internet identities) as a comprehensive part of their estate planning needs.

Mr. King takes his clients' hopes and wishes as the primary goal of the estate planning process. Addressing that goal along with the tax implications and the practical issues that arise, speak with Mr. King for all your estate planning needs. Consider not only where you want your estate to go, but the impact on those left behind. How will your digital assets (online banking, email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) be handled? Who will handle your estate after your pass away? With Mr. King, your estate plan will be addressed from top to bottom.

Are you a business owner? Barrett R. King comes from an entrepreneurial family and has been faced with the challenges of an entrepreneur since he was in elementary school. Speak with him  to determine whether you are adequately protecting your business interests. Have you thought about having your key employees sign non-disclosure and non-competition agreements? Have you had your customers sign contracts for your services? Protect your largest asset (your business) by consulting with counsel.
