Can you be fired for being out sick, if you have a doctor's note?

Not an easy question, because the answer depends on various factors. If you've worked for the company, full-time, for more than one year, and if the company employs more then 50 employees within a 75 mile radius of your workplace, then you might be protected by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
