About Me


Jeremy P. Oczek is a Partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology Group at Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a full-service law firm of more than 200 lawyers.  His practice is focused on complex intellectual property litigation, patent and trademark portfolio development, counseling, and strategic advice.


 


Mr. Oczek has significant experience litigating intellectual property disputes, particularly patent infringement cases, as well as trade secret, trademark, copyright, and contractual matters. He has handled intellectual property cases in federal courts around the country, including forums in Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Texas, and has both trial and appellate experience. In 2010, Mr. Oczek was honored as a "Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star" in the area of intellectual property litigation while practicing in Boston, Massachusetts.


 


Mr. Oczek is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has assisted clients in developing intellectual property portfolios and obtaining patent and trademark protection in the U.S. and abroad. He also has experience with patent reexaminations before the U.S. Patent Office, particularly those related to pending or anticipated litigation matters. Additionally, Mr. Oczek has advised clients on a wide array of intellectual property matters, including enforcement, clearance, licensing, due diligence in corporate transactions, and opinion work involving validity and non-infringement issues.


 


Mr. Oczek has worked with clients in matters involving a broad range of technologies, including: computer software, hardware, architecture, and systems; networking and telecommunications; business and financial methods performed over the Internet; industrial equipment and manufacturing processes; medical devices and processes; biotechnology; and life sciences technologies, including genetic, diagnostic, and therapeutic tools and processes.


 


In recent years, the national media has looked upon Mr. Oczek to offer commentary on intellectual property issues, and he has been quoted in articles appearing in The National Law Journal, BNA's Patent, Trademark & Copyright Journal, Law360, and The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel. He has also published articles on intellectual property law in the Buffalo Law Journal, Boston College Law Review, and The Sedona Conference Journal.


 


Prior to joining Bond, Mr. Oczek was a Partner with the international law firm Proskauer Rose LLP, where he was resident in the firm's Boston office.
